Alonzo E. “Lonnie” Lagle, 73 of Indianapolis, passed away on April 09, 2024 at I. U. Health Methodist Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1950 in Vincennes, Indiana, to the late Bertha (Webber) and Alonzo H. Lagle. After graduating high school, he began his career at Public Service and in firefighting. Lonnie served in several capacities as a fireman, even earning his bachelors in fire science from Purdue University, and retired as a State Fire Marshall. He also served as a police officer for Hendricks County Sheriffs Dept and Brownsburg Police Dept. Lonnie owned several businesses throughout his life. He was a member of the Living Christ Lutheran Church in Plainfield, several Firemen’s Associations, and a lifetime member of the BASS fisherman organization. Survivors include his son, Joe Lagle (Debbie) of Colorado Springs; daughter, Kim Lagle (Donald Young, Jr.) of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Christine Paige Lagle(Kent), Marley Lagle; his friend and Kim’s mother, Patti Maners of Danville. His parents; brother, Richard Lagle (Janet); and sister, Clara Jane Canida, preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Friends and family may call from 5:00 pm until the service time in the funeral home.
